After I performed my engine swap I found out that a ECM originally configured for an auto trans won't run right with a stick. I spent several hours at Cummins hooked up to the insight tool trying to figure out which program to download into my ECM, but they are not distinguished by auto or manual, just by torque and hp. The Cummins tech at one point asked me if I wanted to use the 245/505 program and I told him that I was told not to use that on a ETC engine because it would degrade the power. So, my question for the guru's in the know is what are the differences in the ECM calibrations? Could I download the ETH programing and then add a ETH vp44 when the need arises? Will it give me noticably more power? Would the ETH calibration make a ETC engine run different? Inquiring minds would like to know. Hope to hear some good discussions. ;) ;)
