The headrest video monitors were installed in the truck by a previous owner I'm assuming, and I can't for the life of me decipher what the hell I need, or need to do, to make them functional again. I'd like to be able to use them on an upcoming trip for the kiddo.
Here's what I know so far from digging under the seats.
Under the passenger seat I found the following...

Then, under the driver seat I found these...

Last two are the same plug.

Sooo... can someone please either help me with the previous owners installation, or educate me on whats going on here so I can get it working. I'm totally lost having never dealt with mobile video before.
Thanks

I'm not sure if that was meant as sarcasm or not, but I have a feeling that sadly it wasn't. I'm pretty new here so I'll oblige for the time being, not knowing what the forums policies are exactly.
With that said, do you have any useful input on my original post or just my potty mouth? Lol

Edit: well apparently I'm not going to edit my original post as you requested because I can't seem to find an option to edit the original post in the thread, only the subsequent comments have that option, at least on my phone. Oh well, I tried.

No it wasn't meant as sarcasm, I read a lot of the posts here and if I can help, I do, it's just that the policies do state no profanity, and also I don't like to read it, good luck on the fix though, Monte....looks like someone fixed it for you

If you provide brand and modell of the monitors we can find the install manual online. These are all generic plugs and connectors you have there.

Educated guess: Black is audio from head unit Yellow is video from the head unit. The plug laying on the floor is probably power. You need to find the corresponding wiring to the monitors. The aftermarket ones I have seen have common input for both monitors in a small box and a single cable going to each monitor. Brand names of monitors and head unit will be helpful.

Thanks admin for editing the post to conform with policy. As much as I dislike censorship, I was going to edit to conform, I just couldn't find the option to do so.
In reply to the ones asking the make or model, I haven't had any luck finding any markings, on anything regarding the monitors.
Each monitor has a black and grey wire going down to the 14 pin plugs. I'm assuming that there is a control box or something that is missing, because none of the plugs under the seats interface with the ones going to the monitors.
I was hoping against all likelihood that there might be a way to ID the system to find out what I need, or that maybe someone would recognize it.
Here's a picture of one of the monitors as well in case it helps.

As for any wiring coming back from the head unit.. perhaps the precious owner had a different head unit but the current Kenwood head unit that was in when I bought it, doesn't have any video capabilities.
I realize there's not much to go on here, like I said just kinda hoping I get lucky and someone can help. Would be nice to use whats already installed if possible instead of buying a whole new system and monitors.

Well I happened to see the tabs holding the monitor in the housing while I was looking it over again and was able to release the tabs to remove the monitor from the plastic housing. On the back I found the following label.

I'm planning on doing some googlefu on the numbers and such, but again figured one of you gents might recognize something.

Here is what the label says:
Model No. UN7200
7.0 Inch Wide Screen; Universal Screen
Serial No. 510190140
Made in Taiwan
Good Luck:rolleyes:

The rosen sight is where I ended up to. Hopefully I can find what I need with a little searching through them. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to be replacing the units or just leaving them dead as it doesn't seem there's too much in the way of parts for the system anymore. We'll see what I find out from rosen though.

If all you have are the headrest monitors and the wires in your pics, I’d say you just need to get a new system.
That is indeed all I have. I wish it wasn't because I like the idea of the monitors, but not sure its worth putting in a whole new setup with new headrests. I think I may see if someone makes a replacement system with monitors that would fit where the current ones reside. I doubt I'll get that lucky though.

I’m only one coffee in so far this morning but after a blurry eyed study of the pdf I THINK….

You need the junction box and the remote.
Contact Rosen and see if they have one laying around

That would get things back to working so you can connect a/v cables from your source..

Also just to explain the inability to edit…I think the window to edit a post is very short, like 24 hours or less.

Mwilson I think I will contact Rosen and see if they have those parts, I kinda doubt it, but who knows, I may get lucky. I do believe you're exactly right about pulling the box with the system, since it seems the box lived under the same seat as the amp based on where the wires are. I still need to put an amp and sub in as well since the sound is a little unbalanced without them.
Brucejohnson, thanks for the clarification. I was fairly confused when I looked for an edit button and couldn't find it. Makes sense now.
