Was wondering if this could be done to isolate the ECM from the engine block since heat is one of the biggest problems.

Also is there any way to bring cooler air in around the computer on the firewall? Or am I just worrying about nothing?

Thanks in advance, much, Mike

There are hundreds of these trucks with more than 100,000 miles and no ECM problems at all. Mine has 139,000 trouble free miles.

Thanks Dennis. Wait till you got to about 250,000 miles like my 12 valve... . that's just about the time I realized the truck will never die. Like getting two free extra trucks to go with it. It now has over 300 k and has been a work truck always.

got 182,000 on my 98. 5 and the ECM & PCM are the originals and I have had the water temp at 240 deg. and EGT's at 1400 deg. in the rockies towing my old 5th Wheel and they took it fine. also that engine heat helps keep the moisture off them and out of them.
