Sportsman 500 HO or 700?

Santa Maria Ca...Anyone?????

I saw a new Ford super duty dually, parked in town and the lower half of the left side of the bed, from the duals to the left front corner of the bed was gone. What was left of the upper half, had a jagged edge. It looked like the bed must of been made of fiber glass or something. I wish I would of had my camera, so I could have taken a picture and had someone post the picture.

Are they building Fords with something other then metal. I couldn't believe it.

Pretty sure the dually fenders are made of fiberglass, as most duallys are. I see lots of them around here with holes in them.

And that's why I don't need training wheels on my truck. ;) :-laf

It wasn't the fender part that surprised me, the broken out part was the whole lower half of the side of the bed, right up to the front of the bed. The bed is normally metal and the fender part might be fiber glass or some other material. But this took in the area from the left front corner of the bed, by the cab, all the way back to the axle. A camera would have been nice at the time.

I think ford went to the plastic sides of their bed like chevys did when the diaper max came out. Haven't seen one up close yet, only from a distance.

I reckon thats one way to cure the rust problem. The body shops will have to bone up on fiberglass repair techniques now, I suppose.
