Axle ratios vs dyno numbers?

Wyoming and cummins

this is just sad... it's not my brand of truck, but still, just hundreds of miles on the truck and oil leak

Sounds like a loose rail thingy that people have been talking about. An easy fix.

i am happy that my truck has been pretty much trouble free. .

Hello,

I have a friend who has a 2004 6. 0L PSD and he hasn't had any problems with it. I ask him every time I see him because any diesel interests me. It's his first diesel and he thinks it's great. I would like to see Ford get there PSD program going smooth again and I think the 2004 PSD is definitely better than the 2003 PSD was. I was around when GM did there best to ruin the diesel reputation and I don't want to see any manufactor do that again.

Well the ford 6. 0 is being replaced in 07' it wont be around much longer... its being replaced by a 6. 4L ford built motor. . (LOLOLOLOL)

I doubt very seriously the 6. 4 liter diesel you speak of will appear in a Ford. The only 6. 4 liter diesel I am currently aware of the the Mercedes Benz MBE900 6. 4 liter diesel. Would not make much sense for DC to under cut itself and sell an engine like that to its largest competitor.

Chuck Yeager

I told one of my 6. 0 Ford owner buddies at least he had something in common with Chuck Yeager. . (drum roll please)

Chuck is a test pilot also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can feel for the Furd owner. I bought my 98 12V in 11/97 in Birmingham AL. and drove it to my Mother's house in Tuscaloosa about 45 miles away to show off my new truck to her. After parking in her driveway and going into her house to visit, She came back in to tell me my truck was leaking oil on her new concrete drive. I just knew she was kidding me and she said no. I took a look and I became very sick. In less than 50 miles I had lost 2. 5 quarts of oil. All over the bottom of the truck and the back of it. I called the dealership in Birmingham and told them of the problem and they said to top it off and return for them to check it out. As soon as I pulled up to the door my salesman had the top mechanic put it on the lift to check it out. A pinched rear main seal was the problem and they would have to remove the transmission to repair it. They gave me a free pickup loaner to use till they could get the part and install it. I picked up the truck the next day and could not tell they had been a leak. They had clean it from top to bottom and front to back. They were quick with the repair and did a very good job of keeping the inside clean too. Been driving great ever since!!! :D :D

It looks like ford is getting a 6. 4 from international. Even have some speculated torque ratings.

international diesel

I have driven several hundred thousand miles in the international T444E. It is the Powerstroke in an International truck. I know the history on ten different trucks with this engine and have seen each of them go lots of miles. Several have over 300k! As long as you don't ever have to rebuild one they aren't bad engines. The DT466 is much better as far as rebuilding because they are wet sleeved. It seems as if maybe some of the problems are ford related not all International. I love my Cummins but I also like International medium duty trucks. Give me a 4700 with the DT530 in it and I am happy!

At this point in the game, the smartest thing Ford could do would be to offer the Caterpillar 3126B as an option engine for the Super Duty line, but I am not sure they could keep the price of the truck within reach of most buyers. There would also be some significant redesign hurtles to pass as well, but it would definitely be a NICE truck with the 3126B. Don't hold your breath waiting for it. :p

Hp sells cars. I think they will keep their 8s. The masses dont want to know about torque rise and peak torque. Fuel economy and longevity. As long as it has the most hp. 6s arent for those in a hurry.

I am beginning to think that I would rather have an engine problem then our pathetic steering. At least the engine is fixable. :(

Well, when you go to pull out in traffic and your truck stalls or just sits there as a car plows into to you, you might have some steering issues with a Ford also. :D Bottom line is most of the steering issues on our trucks can be handled by the average Joe in their driveway. Try fixing most of the problems the Fords are having in your driveway and you be wishing all you needed was a track bar

Man... . that would be extremly depressing.

HP does sell trucks and dosent the new 04 or 05 Cummins motor make more HP than the Duramax?

I rember reading an article about it here somewhere.
