2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Can you do this?

I may be getting a 01' dually that is for sale locally. The thing is,it has the normal black roundish mirrors and I wanted a truck with the fold out tow mirrors. So,can you swap them out?I have heard of the 3rd. gen guys doing this. The thing is I will be towing alot and plus I think they look sweet tilted out. My dads 3rd. gen dually has them and I really like the visibility they give. So,will it work to swap them?Thanks for any help.

the ones that fit 2nd gens arent power. but there is a way to install third gen power mirrors on 2nd gen bases. search the forums. im sure you will find the info you need. mark

If you don't care if they are power or heated you can go down to any dealership and order flip up tow mirrors for less than 300 bucks that are made to bolt right on your truck. they won't have power adjust but the way it sounds you like them to point skyward and will most likely always have them up so readjusting them all the time won't be an issue. be sure to check out the classifieds before you order new ones and post a wanted ad.
