Hey all- this question was just brought up to me by my boss and I had no clue! Reason I ask is because I work for a trucking company and one of our teams are telling us they got carbon monoxide poisoning from letting there truck idle... said there must be a leak into the cab somewhere.

No I have personally never heard of it from Diesel exaust but I would asume that it would make a person pretty sick... . anyone know?

Thanks in advance... RyanB

By product of burning hydro carbon based fuels is carbon monoxide. Look into an exhaust leak.

thats what I thought to when he first asked me but thought I would ask on here. Its actually a little diesel powered bunk heater so the shop has now pulled the truck in and others and doing tests.

Thanks... Ryan

In the last TDR magazine there was a link to some pro diesel stuff from Loren, according to his info the amount of CO was alot less from a diesel compared to a gas engine.

Yep. It can kill you. I get in my sleeper and goto bed. Wake up 2 hrs later coughing/choking with a pounding headache. A car hauler with the low mounted exhaust parked next to me and the fumes came into my truck.

Been there, done that, can't stand it.

Hey! Hold on a minute. Life can't be that bad. Like they say "everything will come to pass". Just put it into perspective - diesel prices aren't really THAT bad.

Just remember you've got a great support group here if you just want to talk about it.
