Any members out there who can cut cane knife blanks out of 1/8 inch thick sheet steel for me? I would also need to know what would be a good steel to use (is 1095 any good) that can take some impact hits and take and hold a good edge. If you know how to temper the steel after cutting that would be great. We use these cane knives to trim coconut trees. I have been using German made Tiger Brand cane knives which are like gold here, if you can find them. The factory went out of business when the Berlin wall fell and the two Germanys were united. Of course I will be willing to pay for this work and the cost of the steel. I will send whoever can do this work a full size outline of the knife. You can either respond in this forum or email me at -- email address removed --. I sincerely appreciate any help.
