Why God Loves Blondes !!

Heavy Eyes Behind The Wheel

Was just currious about the curriency exchange rate and how it related to the value of a buck in Canada vs. the USA. To put it simple would it be of any value to retire in Canada with the money I made here in the USA ? Kevin

I know someone that did that, but in Mexico.

I think your every day things (food fuel etc) would be comparable to here in the US. Not enough savings to justify it... ... . IMO

Where 's all the Canadians... ... ... EH ? So how much of my cash does it take to buy a dollar in Canada???? 78 cents or what ?EH????????????????????? and do they charge me anything to exchange ????????????Kevin

Closer to 65 cents Kevin last time I looked... ... . As for charges for exchange, that's something I'm not sure about... .

Jason

So, if I took my$ 800,000. oo retirment nestegg and cashed it in for Canadian curriency I would gain 35 % ???

Looks like to me a better deal than anything else I have come across in a while

Whitmore,

The numbers don't mean a whole lot. It's how much the money will buy. If something costs $. 65 US and $1. 00 CN then what have you gained by exchanging your money?

I guess if I exchanged I could say I have a million bucks :D

The reason I ask this is we just had a couple Canadians at our job for some consulting and they think it woulod be a gain to do this. They think the dollar goes further in Canada??? Not neccesarily further but they think a buck is comparible or very close ?

another question would be what would be the complications or gain/loss on taxes ?????

You would have to be way ahead ,your dollar is worth so much more, although are dollar has gained a little ground in the last month or so (7cents) I'm sure it would be still worth it.

Cool site Drawson

Looks like 1000 USA dollars will convert to 1527 so if I converted a 800 k nest egg it would be a cool 1. 2 mil... ... ..... I could live with that:D Kevin
