Canceling extended warranty

I purchased the ext warranty when I purchased my 2004. 5 2500 4X4 w/cummins. After reading the posts here at TDR I am considering canceling the warranty. I felt the $1700 was too high anyway. How do I go about canceling the warranty ?????????????????

the selling dlr should be able to handle it for ya. you will get refund check in the mail



i cancelled mine. i didnt like the small print on the paper i recieved in the mail that wasnt on the papers i read when signing up for the extended wrrnty. stated if the warranty was restricted in any way,,,,,,,,,the WHOLE wrrnty wld be void so if they saw my pac brake i would expect my auto transmission wrrnty to perhaps be restricted [i dont care as dtt is my trans wrrnty station] but i dont expect dc to void my whole warranty. yep,,,,the radio goes t. u. the wrrnty wont cover it acording to the fine print

Not sure of your extended warranty vendor, but some will pro-rate your warranty (even if you are still in your factory warranty) when cancelling. This is similar to trading in a truck with an extended warranty. You will get reimbursed for the residual on the EW, but it will be much less than you expect because they pro-rate it. If you just took delivery you might be able to wiggle out of it claiming ignorance of the terms.
