After being BG status on my order since May 12th D/C cancelled my order Today with ZA status. Said the 2500 3/4 ton line was shut down for the next week or 2 and Dealer would have to reorder next week again and start all over with process. Low 1. 9% financing runs out 5July2000 I'm told. Luckly dealer had a ETH/DEE Quad 3500 dually come in today so he made a better deal and now I am driving it tonight. Anybody else go ZA status today? WARSAW ,MISSOURI 65355.

ZA status means cancelled,period. When dealer re-orders you have a new order date not your original order date,I'm told. Dealer also said. Starting 1JUNE2000 today. there was a $1000 rebate on 2001's,but not low financing of 1. 9%. Can someone verify this,it would be nice to buy the 2001 with $1000 rebate and low financing but dealer said you can't have both. But ZA status will hurt a lot of us. Lucklily I bought my ETH/DEE last night,or I would be waiting another 10 weeks or more again. Good Luck Guys,No Matter What Happens Today.
For my own clarrification, why do so many of you "ORDER" your trucks from the factory. In my area, anything thing you could imagine is already sitting on the dealers lots. My dealer, All Star Dodge, in Banning, CA, orders his trucks loaded, like most everyone wants them. A good example is an add he had for a new 2001 2500 QC Cummins Diesel, 5 speed, towing etc, White, not every extra, but nicely equiped, for $25,999. Dealers can also do "dealer trades" and get whatever you want from another dealer. I'm just curious! Sam

The Perris dealership told me they could get two trucks like what I was looking for and wanted me to prove my financing and close the deal. However they could not get the truck on their lot because they did not have anything that they could trade so they wanted me to buy site-unseen. After questioning them for a while, I found that the trucks that they had found did not have leather and were 5-speeds.
Watch these guys...
Hence I ordered through Frahm since they do so much fleet ordering I figured it might help speed mine along. Hah!!

I have been checking most of the dealers in S. Cal and no 6 speed trucks. Last week Poway Dodge had a 6 speed 4X4 on their lot. I took a drive, it was great but I do not want a 4X4. It still is sitting on the lot. It's white. I'm waiting for the new 2001. Will make on more long trip this summer with my 93, 3500.

Woodhouse in Blair, NE can provide about anything too. They move something like 2500 units per month (Dodge, Chevy, and Ford). On any given day they have several hundred Dodge trucks on the lot with 20-25% of them being Diesels -- and with that turnover you can practically stand there and pick one off a truck coming through. Good dealership. Like most, their service area can't keep up but they put forth a good effort.

Take a look at my Sig..... we keep things for a L O N G time and we are sorta willing to wait for what we want. There are at least two HO 6-Speeds at Jim Click Dodge in Tucson BUT they are the wrong color, no sport package not SLT+, etc. We kept our last truck for just over 15 years.
I think most of us order the vehicle because the Dealer's taste is not always compatible our OUR taste.

I ordered my truck because regular cabs with cab lights and 4. 10 gear ratio ain't all too popular. And besides I ordered it so that it is "mine" and very doubtful another truck like it. And I paid $500 Under factory invoice for it.
Just something about ordering it makes ya feel good. I mean I still got my sticker here and seriously thinking about framing it... it says on it :
"This vehicle was built ecspeciall for Eric D. Howard"
Now how can you beat that???#ad
Then again I am only 24 so this truck purchase was a pretty big deal for me.....

In addition to getting exactly what you want, you (in theory) get a better deal ordering as well. The dealership never actually takes possesion of the vehicle, hence they don't have to finance it, insure it and "floor" it (meaning no sales person time spent trying to sell it).
I also did a dealer search and found nothing close to what I wanted.
NORM: I did find a white ETH/DEE QC, LWB 2WD with cloth interior in Downtown L. A. I drove it, in fact. I think sticker was $32K.

Just got off the phone with DC to find out what the status of my truck was. Here's the summary:
5/18 Status D1 ship date 5/30
5/25 Status D1 build date 6/12
6/1 Status built(!?!) 5/26 shipped 5/27, but no railcar number.
A kind lady named Dorothy on the other end of the line was determined to track down more information for me. She found that there's a union issue at the rail head - some of the rail guys went non-union, and of course most of the rails seem to be blocked... .
I have to laugh about this since we had a good discussion about unions in the 'Other' forum. Maybe KATDiesel can clear the fog - I'll post a new thread.

Some of the confusion with the truck being in shipped status and no rail car #(at least from St Louis) was explained to me by my local dealer. He said DC ships the trucks and they basically go across the street and wait to be loaded on a rail car. My truck had to wait a two weeks in shipped status, then it suddenly appeard in a yard in Wasington. It never had a rail car # that I could get. The story is that DC does not update there computer often enough.
By the way, ordered 2/14, built 3/1, arrived Anchorage,Alaska 4/12. Kind of fast since the dealer told me 90 to 180 days for delivery.
