I have rust building on my lower driver door.
My body man says new doors and used doors are no longer available.
Does anyone have a line on any doors?
Thanks Gary

Sounds like he just doesn’t want to mess with it. They’re out there. Doesn’t have to be a 2500 or a 3500. ‘98-‘02 1500’s and ‘98-‘03 2500’s and 3500’s. Check car-part.com.

You might check with LMC Truck. They had them the last time I looked.
We used to laugh at Ford's because they would always rust just over the rear wheels. Called it "Ford Disease".
Dodge disease is just under the doors, your passenger door is likely ready to rip!

Correct.

Only difference is if it’s a regular cab door or a door for a quad cab style cab.

The quote was not just for the Driver Door. Tailgate replacement and rear fender sections were quoted also. He found all the panels except the door. He couldn't find a skin either.

Non rusted used right hand doors I can find. Left hand, not so much. Both of the 2001 Rams Quad Cabs I have owned have had a rusted Driver Side Front Door. They rust just above the bottom seam. The top of my drivers' sill is also through the paint and surface rusted where the door seal sets when closed. Both trucks were extended cab.

My Passenger Door and Sill are still holding paint and are just fine. I figured it was caused by the left wheel throwing salt in that door gap, but regardless of what caused the rust, it did not affect the right side. I live near Chicago and all the trucks are rusted, so wrecked trucks around here are not an option. There are guys picking Dodge Truck Parts in non rusting states and bringing them home, but usually they are 2003 and up, not many second generation at all.

I'd check these out. "Part Grade - A-0" means no damage, "Damage Code - 000" means no damage.

LMC shows one right and one left door.. here is a link and the description:

56-9830-T DOOR SHELL
LEFT HAND "A"

STANDARD/CLUB 94-02 1

$419.95 IN STOCK

"A" DOES NOT FIT MODELS WITH REAR DOORS.

So is this referring to the small Quad Cab Door as being a rear door? It shows a standard cab drawing on the parts page.

I sent an email to get it clarified. Thanks
Standard/Club means no rear door. The bottom rear corner of those doors is rounded. Quad means rear door & the bottom rear corner of the front door is square.

Yes, it's the Flag Mount. The Wide Mount is the big stainless "West Coast" style mirror that has four big inserts in the outer skin.

The doors are the same in that regard. My truck came from the factory with what you call the "Wide-Mount" mirrors. There's a black plastic block-off plate where the "Flag-Mount" mirrors would have mounted.

No, they're not. The door with the "Wide Mount" mirror has four inserts in the door for the mirror bolts to screw into. My '98 came with them. I drilled them out and the holes are @ 1/2" diameter. I'll post a pic when I get home.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. If you mean the mirror mounting in the triangular front corner of the doorlite opening, they're all the same.
BigPapa posted a list of Salvage yards with doors available above. There are apparently two different mirror mounts. You can choose from Flag Mount or Wide Mount.

Here’s the only pics I could find. These were the 2nd Gen tow mirrors. The large flip-up mirrors are 3rd Gen. Where the mirror bolts to the door there is a round white “insert” that’s about as big around as a quarter and about an 1/8” thick. The hole they go in is @ 1/2”. I drilled the inserts out and siliconed these plugs in the holes. I guess you could weld them up, which is my plan if I ever get to paint the truck.
