Canopy Issue

Canopy, cap, or topper. Call it what you want, I've got a problem with mine.



I'm usually a very careful, detailed person. But yesterday morning I got into a rush in the morning and tried to back out of my garage with the canopy door flipped open (up). Yep, you guessed it, it got caught on the rolled up garage door and bent the hell out of it. Didn't break the glass or harm the fiberglass, but the door frame (both canopy side and door side) is virtually trashed.



Now to the problem.....



The canopy is made by Innovation Fiberglass and I bought it from a local dealer in November of 2006. In December of 2006, the dealer went out of business and the manufacturer stopped producing canopies. Needless to say, this means getting a replacement door & frame isn't easy. The lone remaining local dealer who used to carry Innovation products gave me a quote of $400 (w/install). Even he thought that was spendy and said he'd try and find the door from another supplier (but "no guarantees").



Am I limited to taking the $400 option or buying a whole new canopy? Or are there other places you would recommend I contact about a replacement door?

Put the $ toward an ARE cap and consider it an expensive mistake that you probably won't repeat.
