Can't find used 3500 Cummins 4x4 regular cab

I live in south west Missouri and I have been looking for the past 6 months for a good 99-01 used 3500 Cummins 4x4 regular cab and have not seen one for sale. I find plenty of the above in quad cab. Is it just that Dodge did not make that many regular cabs? Also I am inclined to get a 5 or 6sp. based on the problems I've heard with the auto's. I won't be towing or hauling anything near the trucks limits, but it sounds like the autos just quit for no good reason???

I would like a Red 3500 Cummins 4x4, 5sp, regular cab. I will be trading in a 2001 Toyota Tundra SR5 V-8, 2wd, Linex bed liner and Bilstein shocks it is Black in color and looks new (only 8 months old) with 12K miles on it. Price range on the 3500 would be $25,000 to $26,000 with a trade allowance on my Tundra of $19,600 ( Kelly blue book trade ). Which means I would be willing to go up to $6,400 difference for the right truck. I'm in the Sprinfield Missouri area and I would go as far as KC or Tulsa for the right truck.

Just to give you an idea of what I have found around here.

2000 quad cab 3500 4x4, Cummins, Black, 33,000 miles, automatic, asking price of dealer $28,600. It has everything but leather. It was bought new at this dealership and serviced there. One owner and I can talk to previous owner.



2001 quad cab 3500 4x4, Cummins, silver, 10,000 miles, automatic, asking price of dealer $30,000. It has everything but leather.



I figure a 2000 regular cab 3500 4x4, Cummins, with a 5 spd, well equiped with 30K miles should have an asking price of $25,500 with a difference between my tradein and the Cummins after nego. of around $5000. If I could find one close to me. I know that most people want the quad cab and the regular 3500's are hard to move if I can find one close. I don't want to drive 500 miles to shop, or have the dealer think that they can make a bundle on me because I was willing to drive that far. Your thoughts, am I in the ball park?

It looks from your own truck discription you have an automatic, since I won't be using it close to the load or tow limits do you think I should include the automatic in my search? If the autos are really not a problem in the diesel trucks I would reather have the auto. Also thanks for the help and advise.
