Archived Can't get air bled out--96 2WD

We changed out the fuel lines on a 96 2WD, old ones were rusted pretty bad. Before start up I bled the fuel filter to get all air out. cracked the injector lines and bled them. I can't get truck to start and run without shutting off. I re-bleed the fuel filter, still getting air out untill just fuel is flowing and try to start the truck. Truck won't run. I've bled the filter 12 times or more and am still getting air ---truck will hit a few times, run a little and shut down like it is out of fuel. Any ideas on why I can't get the air bled out? Line attachment looks good--- In tank problem??

Maybe it's pulling air in somewhere? Check upstream of the lift pump for leaks. Is the lift pump good?

Bleeding air

Truck ran perfect until now. Lift pump was changed in last 5 months. I will fill the tank all the way up and see it that helps anything.

Found the culprit. The hook up from hard line to the braided hose was lose enough to allow air in. I wound up taking the braided hose off and installing a piece of fuel rated line from NAPA. Put the hose on, bled the air off and motor is running fine now. Engineer must have stayed awake at night figuring out how to make the braided line to upper hard line to soft line to pump---I see no reason for it to be so complicated

There never is a good reason for any piece of machinery to be overly complexe.

But when you get college grads that rarely, if ever, touch a wrench trying to design things, and justify their jobs, you end up with s*** that can't be worked on.

Auto engineers should be required to spend 2 YEARS wrenching on vehicles-not new crap at the dealer, but 10 year old stuff. That would radically change automotive design!
