Can't Get Mopar Air Filter???

I've tried several times to purchase my 2nd new Mopar air filter for my 2003 - 2500 QC with just less than 20,000(first replaced at 10,000 miles with 50% restriction). All the local dealers have the filter on back order. They are telling me Dodge is depleating stock of the old filter and will be making a change to a new shortly.



Are they actually going to address the grossly undersized filter?? I can only hope this is true.



Anyone else heard anything??



AFE has not answered my questions regarding filtration, so that is a no go for me. There is no quicker way to destroy an engine than to get dirt into it. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Negatory. Fleetguard does not sell an air filter for the '03 trucks.

I cut a 4" diameter hole in the bottom of my air box for additional ventilation similar to what Amsoilman did https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72741. The filter is still undersized but at least the filter minder doesn't move so much now.

Genos has them. I was told that they were having problems with the filter minders on the 03 and if anybody came in with one sucked down they were replacing them. They replaced the one on mine when they replaced the top of the air filter box that cracked. It don't suck down no more. But it might be that I replaced the filter with an AFE replaced the air silencer they have in the hose with the stainless clamp from Genos too.

They had a sale at my local dealer in december. Buy 2 get a third free. I bought 4 so i have 6 on hand . The total was 130. 36. They are part number 1-53032700AA and they are in the mopar box. You can have one of mine for 21. 72 if you like. Just e-mail me and i will send it to you.

My neighbor with a 03 was told by D. C. rep that a major revison under way on the whole air filter housing etc. Tsb forthcoming.
