Just noticed the other day thay I can't hear the fuel pump turn on. The weather is getting colder but the truck still starts. Once running the pressure is 12 to 14 lbs. I don't think it is building pressure prior to starting. Any ideas?

Bump the starter but don't actually start the engine and watch the fuel pressure. The lift pump should run approx. 25 seconds and stop.

When's the last time you changed the fuel filter?

If the pump runs but pressure is slow to build, it could be a restricted fuel filter or an air leak on the suction side of the fuel supply line.

Please keep us posted on what you find out.

Well its fixed. Dirty ground connection on the pump. Stock pump still puts out 13. 5 . Only falls to 8lbs at WOT. Thanks for the reply Landry. Moe

It seems in the electrical world 90% or more of the problems turn out to be poor or no ground. Always the first place to look except perhaps the fuses.
