Hey guys, I need some input from you. I can't push back the automatic adjuster plate on my 1993 w2500 rear brakes so as to realease them. I have tried screw drivers, thin flat bars that I have made with a slight curve, welding rod, etc. Can't get the star to free up and turn in the direction it needs to to release the brake shoes. What am I doing wrong. Following diagram and direstions in the owners manuel. I would appreciate any input at all. Thank You in advance. Maggiesman

thats what I am trying to do but can't seem to get it done. Have pushed over and under and on both sides of the star, no luck. Just stick a screw driver in and push straight back? Stumped.

well the drums are off.

got the drums off with a wheel puller and hammer. Put tension on the wheel then beat it with some driving brass. put on adjuster replacement kits from Napa. the adjusting wheel's were beat to pieces from me trying to release them. before i put the drums back on i made a tool that is curved that will reach around the adjuster bolt and push the plate back and release the star wheel. next time it will work. Thank you guys for your input. Maggiesman
