Can't get into gear with engine running or shift when moving. Acts like the clutch is not releasing to shift but feels ok when starting from stop. No clutch fluid leaks. Is the pilot frozen??? Don't want to move it for fear of more damage. #@$%! 916 601-1106

A seized pilot bearing is a definite possibility. When ever I lost a pilot bearing there were warning signs before complete failure. If you catch them soon enough the input shaft won't be damaged. I installed a new clutch and throw out bearing at the same time. My last one I installed a South Bend clutch, fly wheel and hydraulics. The South Bend pilot bearing is way better than the original.

Have one in mine.

IMO the flywheel is a wear item like brake rotors so toss the whole thing and get a new flywheel that already has the larger bearing hole. By the time you machine out a larger bearing and resurface it the cost is getting close to new.

South Bend Clutch sells the flywheel with HD pilot as an entire clutch kit and for more overkill you can also do the hydraulics. You can call them and ask if the HD bearing would save you from replacing the damaged input shaft. (Toss the SB supplied bolts and use the OEM ones FWIW.)

Make sure the transmission has 2 dowel pins to the engine adapter plate and the holes for them are not wallowed out.
