Hey guys,

As part of the bargain, the fella who helped me to install my clutch is asking me to help him wire his 1962 Plymouth Savoy. Now this car has a blown 426 Hemi and custom body. All he needs for wiring is brakes and headlights, turn signals, wipers, instruments, electric fan, horn, power locks, power windows, and radio.

My question is this. Are there any wiring companies that you guys can recommend to me that make kits for this type of application? Anything you guys can tell me would be appreciated. I have looked into two companies as of now. Ron Francis and Painless. Any others? Thanks.

I've used ron francis wire works stuff in the past. You just call them and they will send you a form to fill out w/ what you have and what you plan ti need for the future and they will build a harness for you. These are really nice because all wires are labeled on the insulation telling you what they are so after a couple of year you can still tell where they are going. It also makes the install so easy a 10 yr old or I can do it. Painless wiring is also supposed to be similar.

I agree. I have the Painless Wiring fuse block in my truck now and it is a quality product and I will be using either the Painless kit or a Ron Francis kit in my 32 Ford (haven't decided which yet).

Hey Aron,

Can you get me a ride in that bad boy? #ad

There is a company by the name of Hay Wire that has an excellent product, it is a lot nicer than the painless kits that I have seen (I sold race car parts for a year or two). The Hay Wire boxes have all GXL insulation (The same kind that is used on fuseable links- melts around 300 F) They also have a complete bulkhead at the fuse box with nice connections. This is the box I am going to use on my Cuda when I rewire it this winter. I think they are out of Kansas.
