heavy hauling

Auxiliary Fuel Fitting

Hey Everyone,

Who knows of a good open trailer to haul a car on?? The fish has is getting ready to go beyond that drive it to the track level and i am needing a trailer. I saw one at the track this weekend that was made by Champion. It had a split dovetail that would make it easier to tie down and would also have less chance of my cars low exhaust dragging the trailer. The guy said it was around $1800 and it was pretty decked out with some queer chrome stuff on it. I want a BLACK steel decked dovetail trailer. I haven't shopped around a whole lot yet, I wanted to get some opinions on brands ETC thanks in Advance for any replys.

I got my car hauler in Wagoner at Loftin Trailer World. It is a TIGE 18'deck + 2' tail X 83" dove tail w ramps. I paid less than $1500 w/ tires and brakes. I have hauled 15000+# tow trucks on it. Have made at least 36 rt Albuquerque/ Tulsa, mostly cars and trucks and some heavy iron. have had no problems. I pack wheel brgs once a year and adj brakes at the same time. Quality piece.

they come in red or black. Just remember that the black will get hotter than a 2 peckered buck in rutting season in the summer, red much cooler.

You might check out Terry's trailers in OK City(if their still there). I got a Road Clipper from them 9 years ago and it's been a very good trailer. I bought an 18' with surge brakes and a wind screen. The trailer pulls very well. Don't even know it's back there. Down side: had to have it painted after 6 years and the surge brakes came with no fluid in it. Be sure to have it checked before you accept the trailer. They come in different levels of dress so make yourself happy. I would highly recomend,no matter what trailer you buy that you get a wind screen. After seeing all the rock chips on mine I was very glad to have it. If you tow a lot it will save the paint on your car from desaster. Good Luck

My favorite is the Big Tex Diamond Back. It is 18ft. All steel. The frame is 3x4 square tubing that is bent, not cut and welded. Light weight but very strong. Pulls like a dream and is low profile. Made in Mt. Pleasant, Texas but there is probably a Big Tex dealer near you. This is a factory built unit. Not shop built. I have had two of them in my car biz and both worked great. Biz got so good, I sold my last one and went to a Take 3 slant deck transport which I still have. LOL

I had a Big Tex trailer, but did have a problem with the fender walls bending. Apparently this is fixed now, sold it and got a 24' deckover gooseneck for my jeep.
