I've been looking for a good shell/cap for traveling and I'm real close to buying one of these caravan shells, but I've never seen one in the real. I'm real picky about quality, and price is secondary. Any comments?

What I'm really looking for is anyone in or near Southern Calif who has one I can look at. I don't have the 2 days it would take to fly to Reno and check it out, but I will if it's last resort. They run 3K, and I don't want to buy one blind. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I live in Minden, Nevada. I own the company,"Nevada Mobile RV Service" and was looking at getting a shell from these guys. They build great shells. But, when I asked for some custom things, such as sheves, internal hooks to hang things from, roof racks to my specifications, They treated me like ,Well you know what I was gonna say! I then contacted my utility companies, looked at their stuff and chose a company oput of Sacromento that is now out of business. Check with you local power, cable, telephone,tv companies and see what they use for their shells.

Doesn't look like they allow you to keep

your tailgate???? In my mind - I want that option... ... . want someplace to sit on... ... . and extended - well what tailgates are for... ... .

They will build you one with a "regular" flip up door. I thought about it when I got mine, but really like the dual doors. The one thing I do miss (just a little) is the flip up when it's raining. The tradeoff is worth it. I don't usually carry anything really long, and if I do, it goes on the racks If I need to sit, I bring a chair! :)
