My injectors are pretty carboned up... no extended Idle. 2 are being replaced now. The first dealer did a wrong tsb reflash and I drove it like that for a few thousand miles. They wouldnt do anything when I complained, so I brought it to another dealer who verified it was incorrect.

The new dealer said replacement injectors are remans from the factory and that he would try to clean the others. I am wondering if I should just push to try to get Dodge to replace the remaining 4 or is cleaning them ok?

**the first dealer who reflashed it didnt place a id service tag (they "ran out"), the work order was written correctly. . but the flash done wasnt.

The dealer can not do an incorrect flash on your existing ECM. They can only update what you have. They may not have done any or flashed another module. The only time an incorrect program can be loaded is on a new ECM,they come empty and you must input the reference number corectly.

well, not sure then what to think because all 3 dealers tell me differently.

dealer#1 said they were having issues with their programmer but did do the tsb successfully (maybe not have been able to retriever updates - so used existing)

dealer#2 said that the ecm showed an update, but it was not current. He said "he didnt know what they did. . but it wasnt done right at all". He said the update was significantly "old" in terms of how many updates he was able to bring it to.

dealer #3 says he sees what both did and thinks the replacemnt issue MAY lie on what happened with dealer#1.

so - I hear what your saying. . maybe you can give me more inut based on this.

The dealer ship must update their software to stay current. This will insure they have the latest version. Their epuiptment(hardware) must be in good condition to function properly to perform any flash. Without having the vehicle to inspect we can only guess what happened.

I had to have a new ecm installed. I feel the dealer install the wrong software. Truck has been a dog after that. Even when I put in the TST it's still not as peepy.

How would I verify that the correct software is loaded?

You need to have the reference number for your engine and the part number of the current software installed.

Depends how they "clean" the injectors- it is a good way to ruin them. I would try to push for replacement. You can't really "clean" them. Maybe run some fuel injectors cleaner like "diesel purge" though them, but that's about it. Any mechanical means of cleaning will ruin them.
