Gary, I just bought a new Cardinal. Hoping to pick it up next month from a dealer in Everett. We bought a 33TS. How long have you had yours. I'm not aware of a discussion group.

I'm not aware of any Cardinal discusstion groups, but it seems this thread might just start one!:D

We'll beginning our 2nd season with ours. Here in the NE we are seeing quite a few Forest River products around. I have to be honest, we are hoping to move up to a higher end unit as we get closer to retirement. But the Cardinal is serving us well so far.

Okay-- lets have the best of both-- drive the other halfs:--) :--) :--) :{ -- how about a cardinal get together-- I know there was at least two other cardinals at may madness last year-- we had a discussion going between us Oo. BigMike,

We bought ours used from a little dealer in Burlington, north and east of Everett. He picked up 7 Cardinals from RV SuperOutlet Mall in Marysville when they went bellyup. Bought it this past January and seemed to be in great shape. However, we noticed a small water leak under the nightstand when the bedroom slide is extended. Appears like water is running down an outside seal and tnen making its way inside.

My wife loves the unit. And I like the 80" long bed!

We looked at hundreds of new/used coaches since last August... . concluded that for the money, Cardinal was as good as they get. And I have had good responses from the factory people at Forest River when I've called.

GaryG, Finally picked up our new Cardinal in Everett last Friday and then went camping north of Mt. Vernon for a little shakedown. It's amazing the things you find when you spend a little time in it you didn't see when you were looking to buy it. We really are going to love it. I have one problem with my canopy that I think I can fix when I get a chance. Didn't have the right tool over the weekend. Rained like hell Friday and I noticed wet carpet on one side of the bed. Not sure how it got in, but assume it was related to the slide. I'll keep my eye on that. When we got home, we found one of our ceiling fan blades laying on the floor. The metal mounting braket for the paddle just snapped from the vibration on the road. I've got a call into the dealer for a replacement bracket. Hopefully it was just one weak one. All in all, we're pretty pleased and hope to get many years of use out of it. :D :D Especially when I retire in a couple of years. My truck pulled it nicely. Got 11 MPG doing 65mph most of the time. 55mph over the pass. What a beautiful combination a 5er and a RAM diesel!!!:)

BigMike,

I would like to know what the fix is for your bedroom slide leak is. In our case, with the slide open and raining pouring down, you could follow the water as it migrated down the side seal to the bottom and then flow from back to front on the seal into the bedroom floor by the front nightstand.

They are nice units, aren't they? Who did you get yours from?

Gary

Gary, Not sure where the water is coming in from. When we picked it up in Everett on Friday, the slides were open and it was pouring rain. I noticed the wet carpet on the floor near the rear nightstand that night after we set it up for camping. It had quit raining by then. The front nightstand area was dry. I keep it in covered storage and it doesn't rain much here, but sooner or later I'll be out in the rain and try and track it down. I know slides can be notorious for bringing in water, however, my last fiver was ok.

I bought our Cardinal from Travel Time RV in Everett. They were at the RV show in Seattle in February. They are all real nice folks there, except the business manager we had to deal with scheduling delivery. He was a real jerk. I've got the name and phone number of the factory rep. That's who I intend to deal with on any problems.
