I have a dear friend who purchased a Cargo Body unit for his 2002 Dodge Diesel. That was 1 year ago. After their delivery truck dropped it during its route to Gilroy California it still sits in my friends drive way not usable. It seems that the manufacturer is unwilling to accept ownership of the problems.

Has anyone had any experience with the manufacturer, bad or good that they are willing to share? The unit was purchased directly from the manufacturer.

We purchase from outside vendors all the time... ... its our standard that the vendor should package and deliver said product to us in a use able fashion... . If we received damaged goods we note it on the bill of lading and do not pay for them..... if we have something from a vendor we don't use a lot, we either call the vendor and ask at the time of delivery or refuse the shipment and ask for it to be delivered the following day.....

In the same respect about 20% of what we do goes out by freight... . if we ship something out... we package it to a standard... . that acceptable to us and the freight company... . we do not expect our customer to pay for our mistakes... In the same respect..... we will fight with the freight company... . there are some items we can't ship by UPS... they just don't do well no matter how we package it... .

If your friend didn't mark on the bill of lading at the time of delivery, that it was damaged... then 90% of the time the freight carrier is off the hook... . if we see any damage in the box or packaging we note it on the bill first... . or have the driver stand there while we open the boxes...

We have used most of the same carriers for 20 plus years... I'm sure that the shipper... . should do the same.....
