Do any of you haul autos for a living? May I ask where you get your

insurances? What are your levels of coverage? My wife and I are

going into a new venture with out 08 RAM Heavy Duty 6. 7L

Where are you located? Most insurance agents can only write poilicies in a certain state/ area. I have my commercial insurance through Wilshire Insurance out of Los Angeles, through an agent locally. $1m automobile liability, 100k cargo. Make sure they know what you are going to be hauling because the initial rate does not cover alot of things you would think it would. Do you have a trailer already? And I see you only have a single rear wheel truck, some will not give insurance on a single wheel. CHECK FIRST!!!

I could not afford a one ton dually due to conditions beyond my control. However, I can upgrade. I plan on replacing suspension with one ton megacab
leafs and coils. I will also add airbags and alcoa rims with 455/50R22. 5 x14
super singles on rear with appropriate steering axle tires and rims up front, and a new heavy duty sway bar in rear.

I suppose you realize you will pay a minimum of $600 - $800 per month for commercial liability and cargo coverage and have to obtain DOT authority or operate under lease to a company with authority and DOT numbers.

Not to mention driver's daily log books, driver's physical and medical card, commercial vehicle inspection sticker, triangle reflectors, fire extinguisher, scales, bills of lading, etc.

Yes, I am fully aware of the paper requirements and safety equipment.
I studied for a Bus Driver License and that was covered there as well.
Thanks for the reminders though.

I forgot to mention. You'll need $1,000,000 coverage commercial liability. You probably learned that in the commercial bus driver training.
