Going to Kauai in oct. Any sight seeing recomendations?

Just had to tell the world!

Anybody here ever go caribou hunting?I am going for my first time in 2 weeks and was wondering what is is like, are they hard to hunt?how does the meat taste?

It's been MANY years since I had caribou. As I recall, it is much sweeter than venison and has very little "gamey" taste.

It is quite a bit stringier than beef, but tastes great!

I suppose the meat taste depends depends on what they feed on. The Caribou in Alaska's Interior pretty much tastes like deer from Wyoming/Black Hills area. They are easy to hunt if you are in an area where the heards are. I've had herds cross where I've been camped in the back country. Here's a nice one getting skinned. Good Luck.

Going again for moose and caribou this month! Caribou around here (Alaska) are easy to hunt if they are in the area. They aren't very bright and are very curious. Firing off a couple of rounds can bring some around since they want to find out what made that noise. No joke!

Moose now are more cautious.

Nice skinning post Phil, whenever I shoot mine I'm never in an area with trees big enough to hang them from. :( Still waiting for the day a moose wanders across the landing strip and I can taxi my plane up to it when I gut it. :D

That's the truth. :-laf . They aren't the smartest animal anywhere (northern Canada included). I have hunted caribou in Saskatchewan around Cree Lake area and the meat is good. I like the woodland caribou the best, didn't seem to matter how badly I cooked it it still came out tender and wasn't that gamey.

You will enjoy your self Greg, bring a fishing rod too, fishing in the north is great also, have fun.
