Does anyone have any experience with BOTH the Firestone ride rites, and the Carli long travel air bags? I have heard that the Carli bags support more weight than the Firestones. The travel of the bag is not an issue as my truck isn't used in any serious off road situations. TIA.

Carli impressions.

I initially had Ride Rites on my '07 which performed as designed in supplementing the additional weight of my camper. I have the Lorenz 2. 25 system which allows additional spring travel. The Ride Rites restrict that travel by their design. The Carli bags are mounted inboard slightly to allow much more travel and are longer also. They have provided me with as much sway control as the Ride Rites while allowing the suspension to cycle fully. If travel is not an issue, check out the Pacbrake offering. It seems to be built better.

Another point that BajaBob did not bring uo is the improved hiway ride with the Carli bags over conventional . The conventional bags are too close to being bottomed on themselves to provide an unchanged ride while empty.

Yeah, that was an oversight. The Ride Rites are crammed between the frame rail and the axle. With air pressure necessary to level the truck the RR's turn into bumpstops. The Carli's still have a long way to go. Our infamous freeway section joints drive us nuts here. My truck has a much more compliant ride with no valving change due entirely to the Carli bags. Also,I have not experienced any measurable pressure loss with these bags. FYI. I paid retail for my bags. Good product from a good company. :)
