Update. .
He was going right up the road when it grenaded. No strain or other issues.
We put heads together yesterday and what we believe is this...
This issue almost 100% of the time is in a truck powered either by an ACERT or C16 Cat. We THINK that due to the torque that those engines can produce at low RPM's the input shaft is getting stressed way more than in any other application. Some drivers will allow them to pull down to 1100 rpm and make that big clutch unit and Fuller trans just shake, rattle and roll... ...
So we are going to mandate an input shaft change on any clutch job involving those engines in an effort to protect us and save the customer a huge bill later on.
Mike.
