What did I do to my cruise?

After I first picked the truck up in April I noticed a 8 - 10" long cut in the carpet. This cut was found at the driver's side door sill in front of the front seat.

When I took the truck to the dealer for the clockspring recall I had the service manager take a look at the carpet. After investigating the problem with the carpet he said that there must have been a defect with it from the factory. He even noticed that I had to remove the door sill for some wiring installations. He said to just remove the wiring for the CB prior to having the carpeting replaced so that it would not be damaged.

Anyway, the Dealer will be replacing the carpet free of charge under waranty.

Just thought you may want to check out the carpeting in your truck. The problem appears to be that the padding was cut too short and caused the carpet to rip at the door sill from stepping on it when getting in and out of the truck.

been there

On pre-signing inspection... over cut at the shifter. Got by QC at DC. 4 months to get the replacement. Vendor changeover they say... must have been and epidemic.
