Looking to purchase a carport to keep the heavy snow off the van this winter. It is intended to be a temporary solution until i get another building built here hopefully next year. Does anyone have one? If so, any opinions?

There is a local dealer here for Carolina Carports that gave me a decent quote on a 24x24x12.

In your area I would make sure to get the heavy snow rated version that Carolina Carports offers. They look first rate, but unfortunately I have no experience with them. Good luck.

This is exactly what i have, Have had it for 16 years and have had snow piled on it a few times, still looks as good as new, Monte

Dad has one and an Uncle does they are both over 10 years old and look as good as the day they got them. We don't have any snow load issues, but they both have had ice pretty thick on them.

Do you think it is necessary to cement the corner anchors in the ground or will the standard anchor system they provide be enough? If I understood the salesman correctly, they give you 4 auger style tie downs for the corners and they run a steel rod in on the sides every 6 feet.

just what they provided is all that holds mine

just what they provide takes care of them well. One i mentioned is out in the open on top of hill and has survived when many other thing haven't in some severe thunderstorms here.
