I need a new carrier bearing assy. for my driveshaft and It was suggested that I upgrade it while i'm there.

What is the bearing used to upgrade and does anyone have a part # I can use to cross reference or order it with?

I ordered a stock replacement and it has to come from Fla. so I though i'd ask and see what the stronger bearing was.

Thanks

I'm not sure why you would need a upgraded carrier, the stock one should be fine. If you really want a larger one I believe the only one I have seen on anyones truck is BigBadDodge. On his website he has picks of his International Carrier he installed when he went to his larger driveline with 1480 u-joints.

How much did that stock replacement run you? I think I was quoted 80-100$ by my local shop here... its been a few months so I may be off a bit on that number. .

Factory-$100

Upgrade: About $25

Greensburgh Machine is where I got mine, 724-837-8233

Sleddy do you have upgrade the d-shaft to run a "upgraded" or HD carrier bearing? forgive my ignorance.

Mark,

My modified driveshaft, I did what Dan said.

My Dads stock drive shaft, I took the bearing and rubber out of a different carrier, and put inside the Dodge carrier.

Its the steel thats oddball, not the rubber, bearing.

Thanks Gene. Say, how many carrier bearing's have you toasted pulling? 'Ol bean pole Justin Williams toasted one a short way into pulling his new 04. 5 last year. That's cost it a week of sitting, since the part was on backorder :-laf

I got my stock replacement from Dan up @ Quad 4x4. He has all kinds of replacement drivetrain parts that are way cheaper than the dealer, plus I think he give free shipping on certain items. I can't remember what I paid for it though, he has the prices on his site Quad 4x4

Go east on Pittsburgh street, turn right at the YMCA, turn left at the first stop sign, follow the foot prints down the hill, large brick building on left corner, with racing stripes.

Something like that.

Got mine today

I got mine in today.

The napa version was 76. 10. I'm gonna hate pressing this stuff. If this one dies it'll get the bigger spicer.

Thanks guys. No people can search and it will come up.
