Carrier Bearing woes....

Anyone have problems with the Carrier bearing housing on their LWB Dodge 3rd gen.

I can reach under the truck and probably have . 30" play with the shaft in the housing.

I see the grommets are rubber, I guess a little play is fine and in the design.

I just dont know how much?

The bearing part is fine, the grommets that hold the bearing are letting it move.



I read somewhere on here there is a TSB or Part number to get a spacer to help with this issue (vibration?).



Any help appreciated!

My '03 does the same thing. I thought the whole part was bad causing the vibration but turned out to be u-joints. 4 sets and 166,000 miles later and the carrier unit is still fine.
