I have by '96 2500 torn down for repairs I am going to pull the driveline and go through it. I was wondering if anybody makes a heavy duty center carrier bearing or should I go to Dodge. Thanks Trey

Been there, done that.

Go to a bearing house and ask for a discount. Stick with quality stuff like Timken or SKF. See Joe D's article in issue #24.

I ordered the Inland bearing. It is not in the same housing so it is not a direct bolt up. THey (Inland) said it was the right bearing and the rubber (poly in this case) is the same. THey though one could dig to old bearing and rubber out of the factory housing and inert the new bearing & rubber.

It comes in a standard DANA bearing box, just has their

High impact, polyurethane cushion that does look better then the factory rubber.

I ended up sending mine back as the driveline shop said it all balanced out and the bearing was fine. (this was at 205K on the original shaft with original joints. ).

Thanksfor the info. my truck has 180,000 and all is original, may be fine but I just want to check, I really want a bearing that fits not one that is a make fit.
