My carrier (center) bearing broke loose today about 160 miles from home. Had to get a ride back. I called a couple of local parts stores and none have it. Also checked a couple of online catalogs-same result. Does anyone know who carries this part? I gotta get my baby back home ASAP. I hate to have to pay dealership price but it's still cheaper than having it towed back. And less humiliating if the tow truck is a chevy or ford.

Most any good driveline shop should have one or could get you one without a hassle. If you can wait a few days Greensberg (sp?) Machine in PA should have one for you. If you PM Sled Puller I sure you can provide you with a phone number.

You might try www.quad4x4.com They are a pretty good group of guys to deal with too.

Good luck man, I went through 6 of these in about 4 months and finally after I realized the problem (AXLE WRAP) I bought a set of traction bars. The only place I was ever able to get one of those bearing was dodge and my cost was $106 they list for over 130 I think.

That's a Dodge only part. The body shop price (less 20%) is around $90. The one on my Y2K was bad from the show room floor. I think a straight drive shaft retrofit is the way to go.

What you will like better is when the little bearing in your front drive shaft goes out. You have the 3 U-joints, and an I donno what to call it joint. It has a nipple that goes into a ball and socket. Can't get just the ball and socket. Cant' get JUST the joint you need..... You gotta get the whole shaft from Dodge ($800. I got a Re-man from a local driveline shop($150).
