Has anyone heard of this Company

Has anyone had experience carrying a 12 foot aluminum boat using a boat rack on a QC with a short bed ? Any problems with the boat hanging 5 feet over the cab ?

no first hand experience but I have seen them many times at the camp grounds. Most appear to have at least 1' to 2' hanging off the back.

Once upon a time, Sears used to peddle a pole, with a transom clamp, that mounted into the trailer hitch ball hole and a roof-top carrier bar for this purpose.

The most important thing would be to have some kind of tie-down from the bow of the boat to the front bumper to keep it from flying away.

I saw a QC the other day towing a 5er with a rack mounted from the front of the bed to the front bumper over the cab with an Avon type inflatable (aprox 12-14 ft) mounted on the rack. Looked like he had multiple 2" square recievers up front to remove the rack.

I put 40,000 miles on my '01 QC with a shell hauling a 14' deep V on the roof. The stern is even with the rear and the bow is directly over the hood. Never any trouble. I had a cab high aluminum shell and the mount was bolted to the frame of the shell.

Very nice to drive and rediculously easy to load ..... back up to the waters edge, pull the boat up to the shore, stern to the rear bumper, hook up four clips and crank. It flips itself over and ties down securely in one minute. I always put one safety strap over the top, but never needed it.

Here's the loader I have... ...

Sorry, Short Bed, a long bed would have had the bow over the windshield. I can put my boat in my Desert Fox, on the trailer, so I don't need the boatloader, but I still have it.

Thats what I was looking for. I dont have a shell on my truck. Just going to get a Yamaha removeable rack for the back. I didnt know if that much boat hanging out front (without a rope) would work. I was afraid it might go flying
