ROOTERS no such press release:

A spokesman for Carter Carburetors today denied that the rumors circulating the internet , about a pump manufactured by Carter, are untrue. They are just that, rumors, stated the vice president of marketing, Mr. Joll E. Wanker.

Apparently, the rumors concern the fuel pumps installed on Cummins diesel powered pickups manufactured by Dodge. The pumps have been failing at an alarming rate, but neither DaimlerChrysler nor Cummins has commented on the issue. The rumor, in a series of widely distributed emails, suggests that the miniature electric motor in these pumps is supplied by Doc Johnson Co. , a well-known manufacturer of adult erotic toys.

An employee at Doc Johnson, who declined to give her name, or position, also denied that they supply the automotive industry. "I can tell you this much, " she said, "If we did make such an item, our customers would not be disappointed!"

According to Carter officials, the electrical portion of the pumps are not replaceable or rebuildable.

Several popular websites that serve diesel truck enthusiasts with bulletin board formats, also had a miscellany of suggestions posted, concerning quick & easy fixes/repairs of the pump. One such suggestion involved cutting the bottom of the pump off, and attaching the electric motor from a Lego blocks playset.

Most of the people posting suggestions seemed to agree that any stronger motor, such as the one from a computer power supply fan, would overwhelm the other fragile components of the pump.

The outcome of the entire matter remains to be seen...

LEGAL DISCLAIMER: The above is totally spurious, except for the part about the pumps failing :D they do, and we all know it !

Any resemblence to actual persons or products is purely coincidental.
