The warranty offered by Cummins for either Carter lift pump, cummins p/n 3990105 and 399082 has been decreased from 12 to 6 months. In particular when you purchase the pump you do not know what version of the Carter pump you are purchasing.

There is new player on the street for those of us that are a little disappointed with cummins cold blood warranty attitude. .

Carter has just introduced p/n P74213 which you can purchased from your local automotive parts house. The P74213 includes the latest pump version, 4 banjo sealing washers, the pigtail adapter electrical cable (cummins p/n 4025182) and the necessary hardware to mount it to engine. Carter is offering a 12 month warranty in black and white writing with some provisions you must meet for warranty acceptance.

I just obtained one of these pumps from local parts house, which they had to order and took two days to get. Installed it and I'm getting +13 psi at WOT... . Just keep your receipts... .

rumor has it o'reily's sells the lift pump with a lifetime warranty. it prints out on the reciept. they are high though. around 180 is the going price there.

Paid $187 including tax which I believe wasn't a great buy, But you know how that is, if you need it urgently, you pay the piper... .

My last lift pump from Cummins only lasted 9 month with less than 12,000 miles on it. I even called Cummins direct and argued all the way up the Sales and Customer Service ladder too no prevail... ..... Oo. Oo. 148 dollars out the window for 9 months of service. Oo.

Just through in P74213 in the rockauto.com part number search and came up with $162. 79. Not bad. . but hoeslidiesel.com is still on top $ wise that is.

I work at a NAPA store, and the Napa fuel pump line is primarily carter, even follows the carter part # system. I ordered one of these pumps in a few weeks ago for a customers 01, wound up $169+ tax, now we stock one.
