Yes that is correct. If you stay with the oem lp, you should carry an extra in the cab like I do. Also with any pump, you should definitly have a fuel pressure guage. I used the Vulcan relocate and big line kit. I feel that was money very well spent, as I could see the results after intallation on my guage. Also pump went out 1 week later, so changing it on the frame was a breeze.

Jag1,I too just did the big line kit and relocation to the frame. The line from the tank to the pump has a drip of fuel every now & then this is the only (leak) I can find, Do you have any drips or wet spots on any of your fittings Thank's Don

I checked a parts warehouse for the Carter pump to see if I could get it cheaper. The Carter catalogue does not even list the part #'s on that casting. Evidently, Carter only mfgr's that specific pump (banjo fitting style) for Cummins. If you want to delete your banjo fittings and use a different connector, you can probably get them cheaper @ a automotive parts store. I chose to retain the factory style banjo fittings just because I am a glutton for punishment... .....

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Is your slight leak before or after the lp? If it is before (suction side) I worry about air getting inducted in to the fuel, and that does not help the VP. I have a very slow leak in my suction side that I worry about. Mine is coming from a ball valve I installed to shut off the fuel, making it easier if to change the lp or any fuel filters. I tried turning it off and on..... hopfully it will seat better.

Don if you can, try turning the threads a little tighter, but don't wrench it hard. Some are tappered threads so need to be snug. Don't use teflon tape it can get into places you don't need and will dissolve anyhow. Use Permatech #2 from the autoparts store. Comes in a tube.

Don, I just remembered that Cummins uses sealing washers for the fuel lines on the connection to the lp but, I cannot remember if they are used on the Vulcan kit.

Let me know what happens, Mike

Mike, I will try to tweak it alittle but I think it is coming from the push on/barb fitting itself, Might try a hose clamp Thank's Don

I never reuse the stock style hose clamps after removing them. It seems to weaken them when they are pinched for removal. Every time that I replace my lift pump, I also replace the stock style hose clamps with new ones. Yes I know I could switch over to the threaded style clamps, but remember... I am a glutton for punishment! I am the guy that does everything possible to retain "factory" fittings/parts.
