I have been renting a Case 455 C loader backhoe for about two months now and I have had to work on the machine more than I have got to run it. The owner has neglected it and that is why I have had to replace the water pump, rebuild the alternator, replace serpentine belt, change oil, oil filter, hydraulic filter, grease it religeously, provide my own battery, and now I am having to fix a stress fractured oil pan. It has a B 3. 9 non turbo and it has been a great running little engine, but this cracked oil pan has really blown my mind. Has anyone had this happen before? I took off the chin pan/nose weight and the thing was so heavy I had to drag it out with my S1600 IH dump truck! Not sure how I am going to get it back up in there, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
