1994 Kawasaki KE100 question

I just swapped out the master cylinders on my buddies machine. he told me he was pretty sure they are self bleeding once the machine is running and the hydraluic fluid starts flowing. I started it up and the pedal aint getting hard. do I have to bleed anything or just give it some run time?

Special deal to bleed the brakes on an L. There is no reservoir on the master, it's a constant feed. Hold one pedal about 1/2 way down, and bleed the other side. You still have to let the air out on the axle like bleeding a car. 90% sure that's how it goes, it's been a while since I had to do one. I'll check the FSM tomorrow if I get a chance.

Yeah thats the deal no resevoir and 2 master cylinders with three lines each. the rear most line goes from one master to the other

I found the bleeders on top of the axle. At least thats what I think they are. I got fluid coming out but am getting no pressure build up. I did not do the 1/2 way down and bleed the other. I am doing it like a car pump both pedals and then bleed each side, as I had my 10 year old son helping me. when my buddy comes up we will give it a try

Kenny, sorry, I was busy last nite and didn't get on here. I looked it up in the FSM.

Engine at 1600 rpm. Hold one pedal 1/2 way down, open bleeder for other side, and hold pedal down part way. Leave bleeder open until you get clear oil, no bubbles. Close bleeder, and do other side.

This should do it for ya. Again, sorry I didn't get this info to you sooner.

Thanks for the answer. I did it like a car and got the right side firm The left still is still soft but it pumped up after a few pumps and my buddy was happy. I'll go over it again next time he comes up to work on my house. Thanks again. You anywhere near the tughill area?

Glad you got it.

About an hour south of it. Just about 10 miles east of Syracuse.

Cool I was up riding the hill this weekend. Saw a p/u with dual stacks coming down 90 but when it got closer it was an old chevy. Thanks again for the help
