thanks tdr and members.

Just bought a baby Freightliner FL60 with a 3126 and a fuller 5 speed, GVW of 25,500 and I am going to be running 25,000-25,500 consant across the country, Engine manual lists that thiis motor is rated from 180-335 hp with ours at 210. Any ideas how or what to do to "bomb" or is it worth it for reliabilty/MPG etc.

We have had great success with our injectors in the HEUI injected 3126 series engines. Makes about 60 or so HP, no electronic modifications. No smoke and doesn't get hot. You will need gauges though. The turbo can also be modified, and will run best in the 35 psi range. Might want to give us a call on Monday or Tuesday and ask for Ross or Lenny. :D

First, find your nearest Cat dealer and have it rerated/flashed to 300hp(335 is an rv or emergency vehicle rating). They'll give you a bunch of crap about having the wrong injectors, turbo, etc. ; just tell 'em to do it anyway! Call HT turbo and get a sled puller turbo, it will bolt right in with NO mods(just make sure you get it with the standard htb2 exh. flange and not the hx40 style). Next, get some injectors as stated above. Oh, get a valve cover gasket while your at the dealer. One more thing; when you get the valve cover off, please adjust the valves! It's very critical to keep the valves adjusted on these engines, otherwise they like to drop valves from the rocker arms bashing them. . 015" intake/. 025" exh. Have fun! :D
