1999 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 SR5 TRD

DT466E coolant in oil.

My two work rigs (day job) '07 M2's with C7s and 3000 series Allisons have that annoying auto shut down BS on them. Anyone know how to defeat this feature short of going to Cat and having them reprogram it. On the 300 HP in my transport truck I thought I had it covered by raising the idle speed with the cruise... worked once but hasn't since !!! I like a nice chilly cab after I'm done loading a tractor on it in this hellish heat ! :-laf

A Freightliner dealer should be able to turn that off if the PTO thing doesn't outwit it. You don't have to go to CAT.

No PTO on these two trucks. Guess I 'll make a detour by Freightshaker or Cat, hope it won't take them long .

I'm not sure that it's going to be that easy. Some parameters can't be changed. My experience is with Mack/ Volvo. However, try to think about a faux PTO switch. There is probably an input and maybe even a unused switch socket in the dash for PTO. If you give the ECM the input, as if you had PTO, it may fool it. Youll need a chassis wiring schematic for that.

I'll check when I get to work. I think enabling PTO mode will work on an 07. 2012 and up is a bigger deal.

Tech says Freightliner Dealer can do it as long as they are CAT certified and have the interface, which they should.

Idle timer needs to be disabled, you can outwit this in other ways but none are safe while loading equipment so I will not mention them.

Silver State Freightliner shows that they are certified for CAT. The only other thing that may happen is that the owners of the truck have the ECM locked with a password, so find out if anybody knows the password or if there is one before you head over.

If you consider a chip or whatever make darn sure that no warranty remains on those engines.

CAT software will pick up the footprint and any warranty is null and void from there on as the first thing we have to do on any CAT repair is an ECM download.
