Anybody able to email me a pic of a Catalytic converter on a 1994. The pic shown in Haynes & Dodge manual looks triangular, like a funnel or bomb shell!!!

Aint nothing on my truck like that. Have a 30 to 36 inch long pipe, about 2 inches larger in diameter than the downpipe and it goes straight into the muffler. Just curious if there is a data plate somewhere on the truck that will tell if built with a cat. TENN is about to start testing emissions on diesels, or so they say.

Anybody have suggestions as to a good, freeflowing muffler to replace OEM.

thanks

i believe what you are referring to is the resognater. if my memory serves me right you do not have a cat from the factory... . if you do a search i know it is posted what years have them and what years do not. i had one but it was stolen off my truck one night while everone else was sleepingf

My '94 was also robbed in the middle of the night. Mine looked like any other POS cat I've seen, just a little bigger. Not very long (12-16" maybe) and tapered at each end. Still passes emissions in CO.

Just took mine in for emissions check in Cincinnati. The only thing they were looking for was Opacity, which was explained as the "smoke" particles. Mine was at 0%, not sure if their machine was even working correctly.

some early 94s didnt have CATs. Mine never had one from the factory, just a 2' piece of 4" pipe infront of the muffler.
