not my truck but diesel wont start!!! about 3* my CAT skid steer is frozen hope this is an ok post.

cat 226 not gelled up but it keeps idleing then it dies after about 25-30 seconds diesel 911 no help need sugestion cat sais water froze up in lines I have a salemander heater setup onit with a tent type thing on it now. about 20 min with tent not much help as of yet.

Sounds like gelling is stopping up the fuel filter. I don't think it's water in the lines. You need some additive in the fuel. Also, change the filter and get some treated fuel into it.

did that already fuel is moving not gelled at all has to be restricted by ice some where fuel is very normal liquidy

Only other thing I would do is pull the line off prior to the fuel filter and see if the obstruction (ice) will flow through. It has to be prior to the filter.

Good advice. Try removing the fuel line and putting 10 - 20 lbs air pressure in the tank to see if fuel will pass.

If no fuel you may have a blocked in tank screen. I had a truck do that and it turned out to be algea in the tank. treated it with Biocide and it cleared up. This time of year too!

Btw, it take several hours to thaw ice in the lines.

problem solved I thought of the ice before the filter 2!!! took the air compressor pulled the line and blew back to the tank runnin good now!!!! thanks all.
