Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Cat to resonator?

I have a friend that has a 1996 12 valve truck that wants to buy my resonator, and exhaust from my 2002 24v. Would there be any bad side effects to this? I realize they come with a cat, and an exhaust, but would a resonator do any harm? He was just wanting a cheaper way than buying all the stuff from the dealer.

SSabick, I think (and get into trouble doing so) that the systems are basically the same as long the the cab/bed configurations are the same. The only difference I know of is the mounting hangers are in different places. I hope that helps!

Thanks, this will get the old "junk" out of the hay loft, and help a friend out at the same time. Glad that at least something is interchangeable on these trucks.
