Catastrophic engine failure

Will a '97short block fit a 2004 top end all components and electrical

Hav a dropped valve seat or broken injector tip that beat up a cylinder

Dealer wasn't very much help in diagnostic's need a little guidance

In certain questions involved

Putting in a 12 valve short block is not an easy change. Different block plate, accessory mounts, piston bowls, etc. The short block may be mostly usable if you bore the bad cylinder; maybe change the connecting rod too. The cylinder head is probably ruined. The engine needs to come apart to tell for sure what you need.
