A good friend of mine passed away this past year. Machinist, welder, trucker, equipment operator, and one-of-a-kind guy. He left this 70 SS, 396, 4 spd, factory air to another good friend, who was also my snowmobile buddy on our expeditions up MWilson's way and into Quebec. I was just visiting, and he was fiddling with it.

Good friends don't grow on trees, and I consider myself lucky to have had quite a few.

I had a 70 elk, although it was a factory small block, and very apparently disrespected much more than your friends. And mostly by me
Beautiful look

Nothing like a factory 4 speed, big block to put a smile on your face. Even the base 396 is a lot of fun. They make a ton of torque. Nice looking Elky.

I should add that Paul bought that car new. It actually had a serious oil consumption problem right out of the box. Chevrolet would not do anything until the dealer really put up a fuss. He was a Chevy guy to the core, but he never forget that episode.
