Caterpillar Turbo Chargers

Do any of you know anything about their manufacturer (in house?) or efficiency maps? I'm looking at one from a 3126E and it looks like it could be used on some other applications (5. 9 B series)

they use a lot of Schwitzer turbos I had a 62mm that had a CAT turbine housing on it

The only thing different from a 300 on this turbo that I can see is the exhaust housing doesn't have a bolted plate where the wastegate is located. ( I did some researching after I posted last night)



I'll also have to come up with something to attach the discharge elbow to the compressor housing. I'm so glad to hear this. I think I can score one of these for under $1K with my employee discount. I wonder what size the exhaust housing is. . I have a picture of it's serial numbers if they would do anyone any good?

it's probably an S300... for that price, I wouldn't mess with it honestly

Don't get me wrong, the retail is around $1700. I'd be pulling some strings.

obviously, it says CAT on it!



I'm just saying you can buy a brand new 62mm S300 for a little over a grand, and it fits perfect, wastegate is set up right, already machined for the HX40 downpipe, etc. etc. etc.
