I have heard alot of people recommending the transmission line from a 1995 truck to use as a line for taking the transmission temperature.
Just wanted to make those who use it aware that there is a check valve in this line, there is also a check valve in the exchange cooler on the newer trucks. If you use this line you should take one of the check valves out, either the one in the line or the one in the exchange cooler.
Leaving both check valves in place causes too much of a flow restriction and transmission damage could result.
Those who have modified transmissions could benefit from removeing both check valves since most aftermarket valve bodies do not allow converter drain back. It is best to check with your after market parts supplier first before removeing both check valves just in case they do not incorporate anti-drain back into their product.
